Die dramatischen Entwicklungen in Afghanistan nahm die Synode der Evangelischen Kirche in Hessen und Nassau (EKHN) heute auf ihrer Tagung in Worms auch zum Anlass in einer Resolution an die Bundesregierung und die Landesregierungen zu appellieren, besonders schutzbedürftige Flüchtlinge aus Afghanistan mehr zu unterstützen und für eine sichere Bleibeperspektive zu sorgen.
The Synod of the Protestant Church in Hesse and Nassau (EKHN) took the dramatic developments in Afghanistan as an opportunity to call on the Federal Government and the state governments to provide more support for refugees from Afghanistan who are particularly in need of protection and to ensure that they have a secure perspective of staying.
In einer mit großer Mehrheit verabschiedeten Resolution heißt es unter anderem, dass humanitäre Aufnahmeprogramme aufgelegt werden sollen, die es mehr Familien erlauben, ihre Angehörigen zu sich zu holen. Zudem solle der Familiennachzug für Menschen aus Afghanistan erleichtert und beschleunigt werden.
Bei der Einbringung des Resolutionsentwurfs wies der stellvertretende Präses der Synode, Wolfgang Prawitz, auf den gescheiterten Militäreinsatz in Afghanistan als Folge der Terroranschläge vom 11. September 2001 hin. Prawitz: „Wir appellieren an die politisch Verantwortlichen, diese Menschen in Afghanistan nicht alleine zu lassen und ihnen eine Perspektive zu bieten.“

In a resolution passed by a large majority, it says, among other things, that humanitarian admission programs should be set up that allow more families to bring their relatives to join them. In addition, family reunification for people from Afghanistan should be facilitated and accelerated.
When introducing the draft resolution, the Deputy President of the Synod, Wolfgang Prawitz, referred to the failed military mission in Afghanistan as a result of the terrorist attacks of 11 September 2001. Prawitz: „We appeal to those politically responsible not to leave these people alone in Afghanistan and to offer them a perspective.“
