Am vergangenen 3. Advent haben wir in Prag 100 Jahre Evangelische Kirche der Böhmischen Brüder (EKBB) gefeiert. Der krönende Abschluss:
Antonín Dvořák – „From the New World“ gespielt vom Prager Symphonie Orchester und als Ehrengast Olav Fykse Tveit Generalsekretär des Ökumenischen Rates der Kirchen.
Mit mehreren Veranstaltungen hatte die EKBB im Verlaufe des Jahres ihre 100-jährige Geschichte gefeiert. Krönender Abschluss war eine Veranstaltung am 3. Advent in der Smetana Hall in Prag.
Als Ehrengast waren die Generalsekretäre des Ökumenischen Rates der Kirchen, Dr. Olav Fykse Tveit (https://www.oikoumene.org/en/press-centre/news/wcc-general-secretary-visits-churches-in-czech-republic) und des Reformierten Weltbundes, Chris Ferguson, zu Gast. In seiner Festrede skizzierte Prof. Pavel Hosek die EKBB:
„The Evangelical Church of Czech Brethren has completed the first hundred years of existence. It will certainly continue to cultivate its precious gifts in the years to come, as a church developing the legacy of the Bohemian Reformation, fostering the tradition of responsible work with the Scriptures, as a church that is sensitively aware of social, cultural, and political issues and actively responds to them, and as a minority church, that is, as a creative minority which in faith, love, and hope transmits the quality of the Kingdom of God to those around it, and in this way acts as light and salt for this world.“
