On my last day in India – nearly two weeks back now – I could visit the United Theological College (UTC) in Bangalore meeting the Principal Vasantha Rao and being part of the ceremony “Turning the Sod” for the new women’s research center. This new project is very much supported by the Baden Church (EKiBa), the Association of Mission Societies Hamburg (EMW) and my own Church.

Die Geburt Jesu wird in den Evangelien unter anderem als die Zuwendung des Schöpfers zu dieser Welt beschrieben. In ihm sind wir gemacht worden. Das Geschehen an Weihnachten ist damit die biblische Bekräftigung von Gottes Liebe für die Welt; für die GANZE Welt.
The birth of Jesus is described in the gospels among other things as the Creator’s devotion to this world. In him we were made. The event of Christmas is thus the biblical affirmation of God’s love for the world; for the WHOLE world.

Viele Jahre verbinden mich mit Dietmar Will über unser ökumenisches Engagement und auf gemeinsamen Pilgerwegen von Konstanz über Genf, Le Puy und Cahors bis Saint-Jean-Pied–de–Port an der französisch-spanischen Grenze. In den letzten beiden Jahren war er Kollege im Zentrum Oekumene und wir werden ihn sehr vermissen.
