We mourn the loss of our colleague Dietmar Will
Many years connect me with Dietmar Will through our ecumenical commitment and on common pilgrimages from Constance via Geneva, Le Puy and Cahors to Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port on the French-Spanish border. For the last two years he has been a colleague at the Oekumene Centre and we will miss him very much.
He has also developed and accompanied the relationships of our church with congregations of other languages and origins in Frankfurt in a friendly and open manner and with a high degree of intercultural sensitivity. His expertise was in demand far beyond the boundaries of the EKHN. With great commitment he has worked for the concerns of our partners in the Presbyterian Church of Ghana (PCG). He had a decisive influence on the celebration of an Ecumenical Pentecost on the Römerberg (old marketplace in the city of Frankfurt) and in the so called “Dominikanerkloster” – the place where the administration of the deanery of Frankfurt and Offenbach is located. In the last two years he has contributed his expertise and knowledge to the international partnerships in the southern part of the Kurhessian Church as a colleague at the Oekumene Centre. Dietmar Will died on the night of Tuesday at the age of 59. We will miss his kindness, his cordiality and his commitment.
