On Saturday evening we closed our 4-days official meeting of the Mission Council of the Evangelical Mission in Solidarity (ems) on the island of Bali. On Sunday we participated in small groups in different services of congregations of our member Gereja Kristen Protestan di Bali (GKPB).
During our sessions we discussed several topics on the future work of ems and how to sharpen the profile of our fellowship as an international community: Communicating in respect with each other – recognizing our cultural differences – interreligious sensitivity – dealing with respect regarding our ethical and theological differences – becoming witnesses for peace, justice and the integrity of God’s creation to our societies! This have been keywords we agreed on.
In a word-cloud we expressed our understanding of being protestants and evangelical.
We received reports from the presidium, the general secretary, the theological and finance committees. We started the revision of the ems program and project policies and theological guidelines so that the general meeting – our highest decision-making body – can decide on it. “One Fellowship” – “Many Voices” – “Shared Mission” are first keywords to develop the ems agenda and focus theme 2026-2031.
Most members of the mission council left today back home or to others member churches in Indonesia.
